[배드민턴코리아] 세계혼합단체배드민턴선수권대회(수디르만컵)에서 고등학생 안세영(광주체고)이 대회 최대 이변을 일으켰다.
5월 22일 중국 난닝에서 열린 2019 세계혼합단체선수권대회 조별예선 C조 2차전 한국과 대만과의 경기에서 안세영은 여자단식 세계랭킹 1위 타이츠잉(대만)을 2-1(14-21 21-18 21-16)로 꺾었다.
타이츠잉은 작년부터 세계랭킹 1위 자리를 지키고 있는 여자단식 최강자다. 안세영은 현재 세계랭킹 50위로 이제 막 세계무대에 데뷔했다고 해도 과언이 아니다.
첫 게임은 안세영이 타이츠잉의 코너를 찌르는 공격과 예리한 드롭에 고전하며 14-21로 내주었다. 두 번째 게임에서 안세영이 5점차로 앞섰지만, 타이츠잉의 추격으로 19-18까지 쫓겼다. 하지만 2점을 연거푸 따내며 21-18로 마무리했다.
기세가 오른 안세영은 3게임에서도 과감한 공격과 실수 없는 플레이로 21-16으로 승리를 따냈다. 대접전을 승리로 장식한 안세영은 포효했다.
안세영은 중학생 신분으로 태극마크를 달아 차세대 스타로 기대를 받고 있으며, 이번 달 초 뉴질랜드 오픈에서 여자단식 첫 우승을 차지했다.
안세영의 승리로 기세가 오른 배드민턴대표팀은 여자복식 장예나-공희용 조와 혼합복식 서승재-채유정 조가 승리하면서 대만을 3-2로 이기며, C조 1위를 확정했다.
